prevent conrod failure d22 navara

i bought a navara 03 with 125k with the engine damaged (con rod no 4 ) but not having gone through the block, i took out the engine stripped it and basically it looked in surprisingly good condition (bores cam journals crankshaft surfaces etc) so i rebuilt it fitting new bearings conrod rings gaskets etc.
it started easily and ran perfectly and still is running perfectly but tonight i fitted up an oil pressure gauge and to my horror it would not pass 20 psi no matter what revs,it should be 20 at tickover 40 at 2000 60 at 4000. It was ready to go again except i was lucky to try it i do 100 miles a day and ho it survived till now i dont know (over 5000 since rebuilt) i will put it off the road and tackle the oil pump tommorrow see does that sort it out.
hope this helps someone out there i would recommended getting yours tested immediately to avoid the serious consequences as low oil pressure is certain to throw a conrod under load
